I see faith in your eyes
never you hear the discouraging lies
broken is the promise, betrayal
the healing hand held back by deepened nail
follow the god that failed

however i will always remember them as the team that traded away their larry o'brien trophy to the hawks for boris diaw and a couple 1st round picks they traded away
just look at the players they've traded away you might faint out of pure laughter
joe johnson
rajon rondo
rudy fernandez
i mean c'mon imagine the difference their legacy would have been hell if they even just kept joe johnson
stoudemire
marion
johnson
bell
nash
i mean they literally traded away their championship
joe, nash, stoudemire, marion would have literally been way too much to handle for any opposing defense

that era of pheonix suns basketball will forever be remembered as the team that had all the offense but no defense

Not entirely true. Joe Johnson became who he is today because when he was traded to Atlanta he became Atlanta's go-to guy on a then crappy Atlanta team which made him develop more offensively. In Phoenix, the guy was barely getting any touches and at the time Amare Stoudemire was their new project in the making. Phoenix simply had no space for him.
They probably gave up Rondo also because Nash was in his prime and they didn't have the time to develop Rondo. I do agree that giving away Rudy Fernandez was not good thing for them though.

Phoenix needed a backup PG... It was supposed to be Barbosa, but he is a shoot 1st, pass later... Exact opposite of Nash...
They tried Banks too, except his only upside was defense and nothing else... Cannot create his own shot, not really a playmaker, turnover-prone, etc...
Both are knuckleheads too...

Disagreed about Rondo... He would be perfect...

Well, at the time, nobody knew what Rondo was capable of doing. Phoenix already had a Nash that played a high level and a Barbosa that was playing like a 6th man of the year. I don't see how they could of made playing time for Rondo when they didn't even know what he had to offer. Rondo has also been the Celtics starting PG for some time now, and those extra minutes that he's been getting has to have had some roll in his development.
