Kobe Bryant won his first most-valuable-player award last season, but will LeBron James prevent a repeat performance?

The Cleveland Cavaliers forward has the better statistics and a comparable team record at this point. He also has an important vote -- sort of.Bryant seemed mildly uncomfortable when asked for his MVP choice near the season's halfway point.

"LeBron," he said. "Leave me alone about that stuff."

He then expanded upon his thoughts.

"I'm a big fan of his, obviously," he said. "I just think the world of him. Playing with him this summer [at the Beijing Olympics], and seeing his work ethic and what he's about, I just think he's terrific."

Kobe is right. I like Kobe even more when he speaks the truth. Season young so you never know. Kobe could still get the MVP.

lebron is ridiculous the sooner most of you stop being jealous of it the sooner you'll enjoy one of the truly amazing athletes in sports

not every great player can be a laker

i bet MJ, Karl malone, charles barkley would have been hated on like crazy if there was forums back then

LeBron James is the MVP hands down, doing the best with the least.

LeBron James will be MVP this season unless something unexpected happens. He really deserves it. His time has arrived-

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

I predicted it before the season started and I'm sticking with it. I didn't even know his record was gonna be THIS good. He has to be MVP unless something really really weird happens.

I could have told you that, I overheard Stern on the phone.

LeBron is playing amazing basketball, but he isn't working with less. That Cleveland defense is the best in the NBA, and it's definitely not just because of him.

Remember Iverson's Sixers, who reached the Finals to play the Lakers. Iverson was surrounded by a defensive monster of a team, and AI won the MVP that season.

Lakers won in five games.

You might be seeing history repeat itself, and in an almost identical fashion.

I also predicted a response like that coming. I might be psychic.

Kobe is number one in my book, and I'm a Lebron fan.

When Kobe passes to his teammates, he's the best player in the league. The only thing that ever prevents me from voting for him is when he starts chucking. But the past few weeks, Lebron has turned into the chucker and Kobe has turned into the distributor.
Gooden>> Lamar Odom. Mo Williams>> Ray Allen>> Gasol. Nene= Gasol.
