Watching these NFL playoffs, I can't help but wonder why after 15 years that LA still does not have of a professional football team. We are the second biggest market in all of the land, and yet we don't have an NFL team to root for. It almost hurts me to watch the playoffs year after year without a squad to call my own.

So my question to my fellow Laker fans is...do you even care?

Do you want an NFL team here in Southern California?

Would you want an existing team? If yes, then who?

Or are you like me that wants an expansion team to root for from ground up?

Taxation...smaxation....bring an NFL team here, I say!

Raiders or bust. If any other team besides the S&B come here, that just means it's a shorter ride for a Raider game.

I root for the St. Louis Rams to lose every game and perhaps we can bring them back here.

the NFL should want an NFL team here in LA, you would think the biggest money making professional sports entity would want a franchise in one of the biggest markets in america.

If a team would come here, it's the Raiders or nothing. The Coliseum would have to be severely renovated or a new stadium has to be built, neither of which LA taxpayers would really welcome.

After that Raider debacle, LA doesn't deserve a football team.

I've been thinking of this for a long time now, but I wouldn't want a pre-existing team. I'd want a new team, but I have no idea what we would name it.

No, they're actually considered Northern Mexico....

Just looking at some of these responses solidifies the fact to me that the consensus among Angelinos is ho hum when it comes to the NFL....

Personally, I would love to go to an NFL game in person....I've actually never been to one in all my years...and sadly to say, a whole generation has gone by without an NFL team here in SoCal....

USC is not a pro team by any stretch, the Raiders can stay where they're at....and the Rams....who?....I wouldn't mind taking the Chargers back...but my preference is to nurture a new team....

But that's just me...and it sounds like most people don't care, which probably is the reason why we still don't have a team.

USC is a pro team, we do lots of off season trading and keep our roster fresh with young talent.

INDUSTRY, Calif. -- Voters approved a bond measure Tuesday that would provide $150 million for infrastructure improvements at a 600-acre site near Los Angeles where a stadium has been proposed to lure an NFL team.

Voters in Industry, a tiny town about 15 miles east of Los Angeles, passed the measure 60-1, though city officials have yet to certify the plan.

The results support a proposal by billionaire developer Ed Roski's Majestic Real Estate Co. to build an $800 million stadium if an NFL team agrees to move there.

Industry is hosting the latest in a long string of plans to bring an NFL team back to Los Angeles after the Rams and Raiders exited the nation's second-biggest market.

Majestic, which helped develop Staples Center -- home of the NBA's Lakers and Clippers and the NHL's Kings in downtown Los Angeles -- is convinced a disgruntled football team would jump at the chance to play in a new stadium.

NFL officials have said the league is monitoring potential stadium developments in the Los Angeles area but have declined to comment on specific sites or teams that might move to the region.

Majestic agreed with NFL officials not to make any formal overtures to team owners until Industry officials certified the plan, which they could do on Thursday at a City Council meeting.

Neighboring cities worried about traffic and noise have threatened lawsuits to stop the stadium. And there is no guarantee the National Football League would condone Roski shaking loose a team from its current home field.

The $150 million was proposed to improve streets, lighting and sewers on the site, with repayment coming through ticket sales and parking fees. It was included in a ballot measure that called for the city to raise a combined $500 million through the sale of general obligation bonds to funds street repairs and other enhancements throughout the city.

City Clerk Jodi Scrivens said the voting results were unofficial but appeared solid. Industry has 84 registered voters, mostly old-timers whose homes were grandfathered into the city when it was incorporated five decades ago. It is zoned primarily for business and industry.

Bring the Raiders back! If this does happen, I'm looking forward to the stadium. Majestic built one hell of an arena in Staples Center.
