The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they acquired guard Matt Carroll and center Ryan Hollins from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for center DeSagana Diop.

“We are excited to add two young talents in Matt and Ryan to our roster,” said General Manager/President of Basketball Operations Donnie Nelson.

“Over the course of his career, Matt Carroll has one of the best 3-point shooters in the league. Ryan is a versatile athletic center with a good up-side.” “We want to thank Sagana,” said Nelson. “He is hands down one of the classiest people I have ever known. His contributions both on and off the court will certainly be missed. The Mavericks’ family wishes him nothing but the very best.”

Mavs already had a weak defensive team and it just got weaker.

but offensively got MUCH scarier, they WILL upset a TEAM in the playoffs...unless they have injuries
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

Haven't they been known as the most offensive team with no defense ever since Nash and Finley was with Dallas?

Their frontcourt is already beyond pathetic, and they got rid of Diop? Horrible!

i seen Hollins yesterday and he will be 10 times better than Diop offfensively, defensively he blocks shots, he is a very good player, and J-kidd loves both shooters and athletic guys, this was an excellent trade for both parties
