Seeing how I'm on a depressing streak here, I thought I'd mention another thing that may bother most fans...

I just looked at our losses this season and I saw that 4 of the 7 were by a basket or less.

vs. Indiana Pacers we lost by 1

vs. Miami Heat we lost by 2

vs. Orlando Magic we lost by 3

vs. San Antonio Spurs we lost by 1

All four of these games EASILY could have gone our way if the ball had bounced our way only once more...

The record at the moment EASILY could have been 35-3.

As much as we've struggled here and there as a team, I just want to remind everyone the potential for the current lineup of Lakers.

I sincerely believe that if we could hold onto our core players, we will improve in the next couple seasons. We could see 3-5 seasons of 65+ wins. Maybe one of them we will reach 70 wins. So for all the doubters and whiners out there, ENJOY THE RIDE while we're zippin through. This is truly a dynasty in the making...

How can you lose by less than a basket? A free throw made, is a basket made. Unless you ment Field Goals, it's a different story.

Someone's picky.

Isn't every single one of the Pacers' losses by a bucket or less. Their wins also.

In games decided by 3 points or less. Lakers have WON 4 games (Miami, Indiana, Jazz, Knicks). So 4-4 in games decided by 3 points or less.

The sad thing is, all seven of those losses were because of poor interior defense, poor defense at the point, and no rebounding late in the game.

Yes we can... Last 3 out of 4 games, we closed them out... Heck, lots of games were close ones because for some reason, they played lazy for 3 quarters, then owned in the 4th...

We are not the Raptors.

i gotta say that it is nearly impossible for US to WIN every tight game, those bthings happen to every game. Since we have the best record, i feel like people are really nitpicking, its to the point where you have to predict situations where the other team has more to gain by the victory than you. And the spurs got embarrased in the playoffs last year, so they got a little revenge, but as a team we are playing great, and we played a great overall game. We lost a "classic" game, but its not as bad as one, two, or three years ago...Is it?
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

If you continue to lose because of the same mistakes, the great teams are going to know, and will expose those even more when it counts (ex. Finals).

If I was an auto thief, and I failed at stealing a Lambo multiple times because of the car alarm, I'm not going to continue to try and open the door, I'm going to find another way around it, improve what I know already.

It's time to improve.

"It's just one loss, don't overreact."
"This was just one loss, though!"
"It's just one loss, guys."
"Hey, it's the Spurs, it's just one loss."

The Wizards are probably saying the same thing after every game. They might as well. It's just one loss, every night.

all that was irrelevant and didnt pertain to the Lakers situation, we have the best record in the league, last year we didnt. In the finals we had problems, but the C's were better, this year i think we are

We need to get a PG that can play defense. Fisher was mauled, and Nelson destroyed us. Also, we're always making the SAME MISTAKE EVERY LOSS! We don't guard the three-point shot. Simple as that. We were killed by Miami, Orlando, and the Spurs with the threes. How [expletive]ing hard is it to comprehend that if you stay home on shooters, the opposing team will have difficulty making shots out on the perimeter. They need to watch game tape of their early games in the season so they can recall what defense is. ASAP.
