I don't see how this is more difficult than last year and most of the back to backs are either one at home and then road, or road and home.

And this team from what we have seen lately are playing extremely better on the road than a couple of weeks ago and this with 3 key players out.

Also if you look at the teams in February they have a lot of easy games and 4 very hard teams @Boston, @Cleveland and New Orleans and Phoenix at home, and even that I see them going 2-2 or 3-1, but I wouldn't be surprised they go 4-0.

This is why racking up such a great record for the first part of the season was so important. We're going into our toughest stretch 5 games ahead of the teams with the next best record in our conference.

Conversely, the Cavs, Celtics and Magic are in a dead heat with each other and a 7.5 game cushion above their next best team.

Nothing is going to be easy. If you guys thought we're going to the playoffs just like that you're terribly wrong...

It would have to be catastrophic meltdown for the lakers not to make the playoffs.

Second they are 7.5 way ahead of everybody else. New Olreans,Spurs, and Houston have to beat each other for the division, Phoenix is not a threat to us anymore not even with Shaq playing out of his mind right now, and I don't see them catching up to us at all. Portland, Utah and Denver will have to battle out for the playoffs. So the 1 seed is ours they just have to match that intensity like they have done it for the first part of the season.

Then there's the Zen Master if there's is a coach on how to positions the team for a great run is him, so that's why I don't see them struggling, yes they will have some downs, they already got one, and got better really quickly.

When playoff time goes it's a different animal and if there's one coach I would trust to make it this team a beast is Phil.

so we.....who went to the finals last years....will be LUCKY....by the grace of GOD to be top 3?

Have you seen the top 3-5?

Lakers 31-7 - 0.816
Cavs 30-7 - 0.811
ORL - 31-8 - 0.795
BOS - 32-9 - 0.780

1 loss by any team and a win by all others? Pushes the losing team to the rear of the pack...

That's how close it is at the top...

Lakers lose 1 game and they are 4th...not the "Lakers collapse". Lose 1 game and they are playing catch up.

Wake up, mi amigo. This isn't a game here. This is for all of the marbles. The way the TOP FOUR are playing at home, the team with home court advantage throughout is likely to be the last team standing in June.

That's why Feb and March are huge for us.

Nothing "worries" me - even a tough schedule. I look for the big picture though.

We need to get another PG in here to relieve Fish of minutes!!!

Hopefully the FO is completely aware of this and they sign another point guard.
We can't keep the team we have now and expect to stay on top.

<_<
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

Home record thus far
20-2
90.9%

Road record thus far
11-5
68.8%

From Jan 30-April 1st, we have 19 games on the road and 9 games at home...

19 x 68.8% = 13-6 record
9 x 90.9% = 8-1 record

21-7 isn't bad...just as long as we don't hit a rough patch or lose anyone of the main cogs (KGB) to injury.

I hope for the same attitude and mentality when we go on that 2 mths as when Pau joined us. Remember how we finished that brutal 9-game road trip with an 8-1 record?

No worries.

Roadies are part of the NBA. Its no worse or better than anything else.

Consistent defense and patient offense wins at home and on the road.

That's why the schedule this year was Taylor Made for the Lake Show. The idea is to progressively improve so that we're playing our best ball come playoff time. We want more road games and tougher opponents, clinch the #1 seed (hopefully best record in the NBA), and tweak things during our soft April schedule. When I saw the schedule before the season started, I was thrilled to see the way it played out.

We're playing a lot of drek teams though...You have to remember that there aren't that many strong teams this year. No jinxing here, but we are very deep, and our depth should help us out a lot.

Anyone checked out Feb and Mar? We're playing the vast majority of our games on the road...VAST majority...

Feb
Mon 02 @ New York
Wed 04 @ Toronto
Thu 05 @ Boston
Sun 08 @ Cleveland
Tue 10 vs Oklahoma City
Wed 11 @ Utah
Tue 17 vs Atlanta
Wed 18 @ Golden State
Fri 20 vs New Orleans
Sun 22 @ Minnesota
Tue 24 @ Oklahoma City
Thu 26 vs Phoenix
Fri 27 @ Denver

9 out of 13 on the road...ouch. The 4 game roadie to start Feb is actually part of a 6 game roadie that starts the end of Jan.
3 back-to-backs.
5 potential losses.

March Opponent
Sun 01 @ Phoenix
Tue 03 vs Memphis
Fri 06 vs Minnesota
Mon 09 @ Portland
Wed 11 @ Houston
Thu 12 @ San Antonio
Sun 15 vs Dallas
Tue 17 vs Philadelphia
Thu 19 vs Golden State
Sat 21 @ Chicago
Tue 24 @ Oklahoma City
Thu 26 @ Detroit
Fri 27 @ New Jersey
Sun 29 @ Atlanta
Tue 31 @ Charlotte

10 of 15 on the road...double ouch. The last game is the first of a back-to-back on 4/1...that last road trip ends up being a 7-game-roadie...ouch.
ONLY 2 back-to-backs.
4-5 potential losses...(if we can get healthy, 4...if not, 5 or 6)

We'll be lucky to still be in the top 3-4 by the start of April...where we end with ONLY 3 out of 8 on the road.

We're gonna have to ratchet it up a notch...this ain't no picnic coming up. It's gonna be make or break time.

Just a reminder...

so we are better at home than on the road

well a nice long road trip is just the cure for our issues

what better way to figure out how to win on the road than playing a bunch of road games strung together

we will need to play well on the road come playoff time so lets lose a game here or there now so that come playoffs we are road warriors
