haha... the travesty, to me, is that he doesn't appear to travel.

if the ref didn't call travelling we still would have lost, as the shot was missed.

like Ariza said "the ref made a call, he though it was a good one, and that's the way it is." (paraphrase..)

I said this in TLN Fan Articles: I said this in TLN Fan Articles:

We can't base the game on 3 bad calls. Ariza had the bonehead play at the end of the first quarter sending george hill to the line for 3 FT's. Manu's wide open 3 at the end of the third quarter. 5 extra points made from those plays. I shouldn't even mention the horrible defense all game (except for a few minutes in the 4th), allowing 113 to a team that averages 97 a game is unacceptable. Big difference. But yes, I was amazed at how they came back and how Powell stepped up. I said it before Christmas, NO TEAM WILL WIN EVEN 70 GAMES and I stand by it today, check voice of the nation if you don't believe me.

ANYONE AGREE?

of course

once you get past the frustration of the bad calls, you realize pretty much almost just got really lucky...well, lucky in the sense that we have kobe i guess, but overall, san antonio playing as well as they did for 3 quarters, and us being short handed and playing as poorly as we did on defense should have set us up for a double digit loss. the only reason my TV still works is because we didn't truly deserve to win this game...though the team showed me something on defense at the end of the game...well, the team minus d-fish

Did anyone notice our D was at its best when Gasol and Fish were out?

You take the good with the bad and unfortunately those two being defensive liabilities is something we have to work around.

^yea

i also agree we're going to have to work around it. the two of them do so much else for us, i mean, smush parker was quick on D when he was paying attention, but we all know how that worked out. fisher is a great PG in so many ways...of the 20 point guards in the league logging the most minutes, he averages the least amount of turnovers. he's focused, he's a leader, he knows the offense, and plays hard EVERY night.

and he flops w/ the best of them

Yeah it wasn't the non-travel, it was the 2 hip bumps he got going down the lane that really bugged me.

Worst part of that game was watching the Spurs make as many 3's as they did. Can't stand watching teams jack those shots and have them go in that much, glad I wasn't a Hornets fan last year.

And the Lakers eventually got back into the game, but I still after years and years of it do not understand the jump shot philosophy when you are down. I'm not on the court so maybe the Spurs players were blocking the lanes to the basket the Lakers wanted to use. But when you are down you want to slow the game down and get fouls on layup attempts. This all doesn't matter because of what happened in the end but I can remember lots of losses where we become jump shot happy and in the long run lose the game. But seriously screw making it rain with 3's spurs. And Jay Mariotti is full of it, "This was a statement game for the spurs." Lol about as much as the Pacers game.
The best sports franchise in the world.

GOD IM GLAD IM AT WORK AND I DIDNT ACTUALLY GET TO WATCH ANY OF IT

It's comments like this that disgust me and should disgust any true Lakers fans. That was the best game of the season from beginning to end and if you are glad you missed it because of a few bad calls or because we lost, then you shouldn't be a fan at all. If I had missed the game, I would have DVR'd it and watched it anyway even if I found out what happened because I am a Lakers fan. I hope you were being sarcastic. Big deal, it was a loss, but a huge confidence builder because we know we can beat them on their floor and we will in the playoffs when it actually matters. Remember, we're playing short handed and they're 100% healthy, even that pig Ginobili who got away with murder all night long again.

A lot of good things happened though, regardless of the loss.

His work requires him to miss games, come on man give him a break. Also he said that (right after the game i believe) because if he saw the game he would've thrown a remote or punched someone lol (i don't think he will but just saying we got screwed that bad)
