That picture completely derailed the thread

Don't tell me you're actually complaining? You must not be human.

They do hate on the Lakers.
How is it that when Kobe carried his team back in 2005, he was labeled as a ball hog when he had to score.
Dwayne Wade is in that position now and he doesn't get the label that Kobe got back in '05.

EAST COAST BIAS....

Kobe's defense was atrocious and his shot selection was......

Wade is playing at an unbelievable level with ease.

It's difficult to realize things like that if you always compare everything to Kobe and the Lakers to see what's unfair and what's not.

I disagree to some degree. That still doesn't answer or make it right that they had to call him a ball hog so commonly. The fact of the matter is our team was so bad in that time that Kobe HAD TO SCORE for us to even HAVE chances to win period. He would try the passing thing every now and then, very rarely, thank God, and it never worked. Our team just sucked balls back then. Eventhough we had a lot of similar or the same players. They just weren't as confident nor as reliable as they are now. They would miss open shot after open shot. I FELT Kobe's pain. Had he not 'hogged' the ball we wouldn't have even gotten' to the playoffs those times we did eventhough PHX blew us off fast.

so why is it.....
that when Kobe scored 81 it was like...

Kobe ballhogged the ball and scored 81 points on lowly Raptors...
then weeks later you'll see a headline that has, Magnificent LeBron scores 30 on injured finger.

They were so pressing the issue of Kobe going to Chicago or New York just so they could have Kobe playing for them.

I don't remember a headline ever saying anything about Kobe being a ballhog. I don't even remember that LeBron James game a few weeks after Kobe's performance.

Not too many analysts said anything negative about Kobe scoring 81, it was mostly players and fans.

Wilbon is a Kobe and Lakers hater. There is others. I don't care about their stupid rankings though. The Playoffs and getting homecourt all the way thru is more important to me.

No surprise there. Shaq and him are best buddies anyway so naturally he'd be anti Kobe. Anyway, he does give the Lakers credit sometimes, some VERY FEW times, but I'm sure it hurts him like he ll when he does.

A win is a win when the celtics "barely win" they toughened up and won.
when we "barely win" we are soft and need to toughen up. ahaha its a lose lose situation

gotta agree
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

Did we win it all last year? Or did we get embarrassed by a team with a defensive philosophy?

but we beat utah and san antonio and they are defensive minded squads and "tough", fans wont accept that the C's were BETTER than the LAKERS last year. The better team won, that season is over.

They weren't better. They outhustled us. Simple as that. They wanted it more. Both teams were equally as good. It was a toss up.

And as we see tonight, we are giving San Antonio a layup drill.

The Cavs play defense. We don't. I rank the Cavs above us until somebody other than Kobe starts playing some D.

In trevors defense he does play defense lol :dance1:
