All of you are 100% wrong. Of course it's clear who the most clutch player in the game is today:

Last night's game was clear indication of that.

Man I spilled a little beer on my son I was laughing so hard!!!!!!

Seriously what in the hell was Indiana thinking sticking Jarret Jack on Kobe at that moment of the game

Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

You're wrong actually, Jordan has 27 game winning shots, he's had 2 game winners as a Wizard, not one.

Kobe has 26 right now, Jordan is at 27, Kobe at 26.

I'd plow Vanessa Bryant.

Kobe is the best player in the game today.

[expletive] that! LeBron is. Yeah he hasn't won any rings, but so what? He has better stats all the time and is a way better dunker.

by the way this is my first post here but ive been lurking for a while...great community you guys got here...

In terms of overall impressiveness, totally have to agree. Just disgusting. Never seen anyone else do anything close to that, especially two consecutively like that.

You should merge this thread together with this: http://lakernation.c...g-shots-thread/

And can someone get rid of the autoplaying YouTube video.

autoplay vid has been dealt with already

won't merge because i like how the other thread is trying to collect a vid of each one and put them in the first post...merging would change the first post to the first post of this thread cuz its older...also, i guess this topic is different enough in that its specifically referring to whether or not he has passed up jordan

I think someone was trying to find all of Kobe's game winners which included his free throws since the lists that were previously posted didn't include any of them, but the list for Michael Jordan's game winners did include free throws.

If you go by 82games.com's definition of game winning shots, it's when there is 24 seconds or less left on the clock where the game is either tied or down by 1 or 2 points. It's sampled data from 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2008-09 (through 2/4) as well as the playoffs in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. Using the data and the above criteria for what constitutes a game winning opportunity gives us these results:

KOBE BRYANT Regular Season (2003-2009)
FGM	FGA	FG%	FTM	FTA	AST	TOV
14	56	.250	12	15	1	5

KOBE BRYANT Playoffs (2004-2008)
FGM	FGA	FG%	FTM	FTA	AST	TOV
4	8	.500	0	0	0	0

Obviously Kobe takes the most game winning opportunities but this only samples a select amount of years and strictly follows a certain definition. However, based on video clips, I think he has passed Jordan or at least tied him, especially if you include games won by hitting free throws.

for me, game winning shot is the shot that gives a team the points that end up winning the game for that team, with the other team scoring no more points after its made...where a buzzer beater is a shot that scores the winning points for a team with no time left. i'm on the fence about whether or not i would include free-throws, through by my defintion, it sounds like i should...

based on that, i think there was a somewhat accurate list in this thread...and i also think that including free-throws for both or neither of them, kobe comes out on top either way right?

maybe i'll check this out in more detail when i have some more time later tonight

The thing is, people have different definitions in which they consider what a game winning shot is. Some include free throws, while others don't. Some say the last possession where the shot is made and the other team doesn't score. Some strictly say the above applies but with 24 seconds or left on the clock only. I still say Kobe comes out on top since he was already close or tied with Jordan to begin with.
