The Lakers are asking for some solid minutes out of guard Sun Yue because of injuries, but he's not completely comfortable with the team's offense.

"For me, every game on the court I feel more better, more comfortable," Sun said. "I might not be getting used to the whole system 100%, but I think I'm at about 60% and it's getting better. Everybody tells me to don't be in a hurry because the triangle is difficult."

Yue has appeared in four games, and played less than four minutes on Wednesday night.

"We just want him to go in there and play spot minutes, just do a job," coach Phil Jackson said. "I thought he did fine. He hustled and he worked hard. Things deteriorated around that group that was out there, [but] it wasn't all his fault."

D LEAGUE, D LEAGUE!!!

We're too short-handed right now. If we had a completely healthy roster, I'm sure he would be.

These spot minutes will help him. He's still not good enough to play a lot of minutes, but I trust that he will put it together eventually.

I loved that block the other night. Not his fault nobody was there for the rebound.

He might be 60% comfortable with the system, but the system looks 90% uncomfortable with him in it. I think he has a world of potential, even more than Sasha at this stage (think 4 years ago), but as soon as Jordan returns, he should got to the D-League.

If it weren't for injuries, I'm sure Sun would already be sporting the D-Fenders jersey.

60% cracks me up, its such and arbitrary number. There's something about him though, you can see that he might have the chops to be a decent bench guy in the NBA. Nothing on a star level, but a kind of serviceable 5 to 10 points here and there.

He hustles back on defense, you gotta like that. The hops he showed on his block in the Golden State game was fun to see.

Sun Yue does hustle very well on defense. That was a pretty nasty block he did against the Warriors.

As a side note, he looked pretty good - decisions, hustle, shot selection against the Warriors as well.

well lets hope he can develop into farmar's backup though i have a feeling with our 1st round pick this year we will be drafting a point guard

though as i've said before i dont object to trading for javaris crittenton

i still think he will be a legitimate starter in this league eventually or at the very least a top 7 player on a team

hes still only like 20 years old and hes big, fast, and talented

i think we should trade mihm to washington and get this guy back he knows most of the system and can really learn it and wait his turn till fish retires

Sun Yue is exactly where Sasha was his rookie year.

Nobody knows what role he could play on the team. His skills look rocky and there isn't much polish there.

I was dead wrong about Sasha, so this time I'm siding with the positive and thinking that Yue could very well amount to a good bench player in 2 years.

i think they should use the same approach they did with jordan farmar and allow him to play d-league AND nba games. he gets playing time in d-league and experience in nba.

Sun Yue happened to dominate the last 4.9 seconds of the first half at the defensive end tonight!
