Dr. Buss had a chance to sit down and talk to Kobe Bryant during a period which Bryant has gone to the media and displayed his frustration. Luckily, it sounds like Buss is committed to building around Kobe:

Lakers.com: Dr. Buss has made the following statement:

“I talked to Kobe this morning and assured him that I share his frustration and, more importantly, I assured him that we will continue to pursue every avenue possible to improve our team with him as the cornerstone. I told him that we will keep him apprised of our progress and we agreed that we will talk again in the very near future.”

If I am Kobe Bryant I am FURIOUS!!!! Dr. Buss would rather take a vacation than to fix his organization that produces the money for him to take exotic getaways…

MEMO TO Dr. Buss – GET YOUR SH$T TOGETHER!!! This is your future!!!! If Kobe goes, so does your season ticket sales, and sold out staples center…

    Re-think your priorities.

Why should Kobe be furious. he got the call and the reasurance that he wanted, plus they can’t do shit at this point anyway.

Let’s be real here….Kobe is the Lakers….but only now. After Kobe leaves, may it be now or at the end of his career, Lakers will regroup and get a player or a group of players that will become the future of the organization. That’s why the Lakers is one of the best team franchise ever (And yes, better than Boston!)….That is why right now, Buss is Kobe’s bi^c#. Give him 2 to 3 more yrs to enjoy it.

Kobe is a Laker for life, and i dont care who or what it takes, keep your franchise together = kobe goes so does the lakers hopes of EVER winning another RING Period.

KOBE NEEDS TO STOP BEING A LITTLE BITCH!..THATS WHAT IT IS..IF KOBE CAN KEEP HIS TRAP SHUT THEN MAYBE THE FRONT OFFICE CAN CONCENTRATE ON GETTING TALENT FOR KOBE I REALLY DONT FEEL THAT KOBE SHOULD BE A DRAMA QUEEN RIGHT NOW..WHAT HAPPEN TO ALL THAT VETERAN LEADERSHIP KINDA THING??…NOW HE DOESNT WANT TO BE A LAKER!!…MAN, I DONT KNOW THE HELL TO BEILIVE NOW!!!!

Kobe should not be furious. Kobe should be placated, at least for the moment. Right now of course it’s just words, and Kobe will still be distrustful. If the Lakers do what they’re supposed to do and pull off a trade for JO then Kobe will have proof that the Lakers are in it to win it and aren’t BS-ing. Hopefully they can do their best to talk Jerry West into coming back into the fold – after July first of course. I hope Kobe didn’t scare him off. I was Buss it would have scared me off, but who knows where he’s really at right now. He tried retiring before and he hated it, so . . . here’s a job, and even more, it’s a chance to right the ship, something that might appeal to his Laker and brilliant executive sensibilities. We can only hope. If we can get JO and West back on board and not lose Lamar Odom who has heart and will make for a great tandem w/JO and Kobe, then we are only a decent point guard away from kicking everyone’s ass. That will make KB happy.

kobe might be acting like a bxtch and to some he is not acting like a leader. let me ask you guys this, what if this whole charade is nothing more than a mind game to indirectly get kg to question his own situation. i read article saying kg wants to be a winner, how people want kg to be a winner. but yet how many years has he been losing. year after year minny get worse and worse, but yet kg is silence. i believe this act of defiance by kobe is to show kg that he can do the same too, challenge his organization; because like kobe, kg deserves to be a winner. and to argue that kg is too loyal to voice his frustration is to call him a fool. he is not a fool is he?

That would be pure genius if it’s true!! That would really be amazing. As much as I would love it if it were true, and not to be the downer, but realistically Kobe was so emotional on all this drama that it’s hard to think it was anything but just pure ranting – getting all the crap off his chest. I mean revisiting the end of the 04 season. Wow. As if it was some revelation that Buss wanted Shaq gone. And then Kobe calling Phil to ask him what the Lakers told him when they canned him in his exit meeting that year. Oh boy. Kobe is still so hung up on outside perceptions of him. All it took was a stupid blurb in an LA Times article to take the guy over the edge. Honestly I kind of blame Heisler for that nonsense. What was the point of putting that crap in there. “A Laker insider says …” Lame. He never should have done that. It had nothing to do with anything. He’s ridiculous by bringing up ancient history that is not germain to the point at hand. What Laker “Insider” is so brilliant about basketball that he thinks the current Laker disaster for a roster has to do with Kobe? It’s a stupid opinion and he knows better than that. Everyone on the planet knows Kobe is not in charge of personnel decisions. As he told everyone truthfully all his good ideas for moves were completely shut down by the numbskull front office. Baron Davis definitely could have been here and should have been here. Cook and Sasha never should have been Lakers let alone given extensions. Krummy Brown for Butler is extremely suspect but if he is a piece that lands us a great player then it’s all right. McKie, Vlade Divac, Vlad Radmonivic . . . stuff is so obvious. Heisler gets paid to write about the NBA and he drops in some stupid statement about Kobe running Shaq out of town as the capper to his article? Terrible.
