Dr. Buss has stepped up and spoken out on Kobe’s announcement of wanting to be traded:

Lakers.com: In response to inquiries regarding Kobe Bryant’s comments in the media today requesting a trade, Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss has issued the following statement:

“We are aware of the media reports. However, Kobe has not told us directly that he wants to be traded. We have made it very clear that we are building our team around Kobe and that we intend for him to be a Laker his entire career. We will speak directly to Kobe and until we do that, we will not comment publicly about this.”

Kobe just said on AM 570 loose cannons he doesnt want to go anywhere if the lakers make a move

Are you sure man? What is with the SteveA. Smith then? It’s mighty late for an April fools…

its still on right now Kobe keeps saying he doesnt want to leave, but things must change

Whether or not Kobe is is asking to be traded or just making a hard threat to the Laker organization, the fact of the matter is, the Lakers screwed up. They lied to their best player. Jerry Buss has to put his pride aside and talk to Kobe one on one to ask him to stay. It seems that he wants Kobe to stay and if thats the case, he should clean everything up.

kenshi1023, Kobe talked with Phil Jackson twice between appearing on Stephen A Smith and then Dan Patrick’s show.

“That would definitely help out the situation.” – Kobe on if Jerry West resumed control of the Lakers.

“I don’t want to go anyplace else.” “I hope something can be resolved so I can be with the city and the team I love.” – Some hope for LA fans.

I have heard both sides of the story and I have come to the conclusion that everything in Lakerland will eventually be okay. I think this whole Kobe wants to be traded situation is just his way of putting pressure on the front office to make some major changes. I truly believe Kobe does not want to be on any other team. I don’t see him being anywhere else and I don’t think he would want to move. The only thing that Kobe really wants is just for Lakers management to bring in an all-star talent and veterans to build the team into a contender. Everything else is that is swirling around in the media is insignificant to the truth of the matter which is building a strong team that has the chance to contend for a championship. All the Lakers need to do is bring in some help for Kobe and everything will be okay. It’s that simple, just make a change and get Kobe some consistent help on the roster and the whole drama will all be resolved.

Garnett, in my opinion, is out of the picture in regards of acquiring his services. His salary is too much and the Lakers would have to give up too much to acquire him in any trade. Jermaine O’Neal is a more realistic option because his salary is a bit less and there is a chance that other players from Indiana can be acquired along with O’Neal if a trade with Indiana was open. Gasol is also another option for the Lakers, a lesser contract makes him a more realistic acquistion, but it all depends on if Memphis will be willing to let him go or not. Ron Artest is another player the Lakers can look to add if the Kings are really going to try and move him. The Lakers can easily package a deal with Kwame Brown as the central piece for Artest. Then, I heard about Gerald Wallace. He is another veteran that the Lakers can look to acquire, his athleticism and energy on defense and offense is somewhat similar to Artest, but at a cheaper price. He is just another option the Lakers can look at.

But again, the main focus here is to make some changes and bring in some kind of big talent and veterans to make this team into a contender now!! Forget the controversies, the solution is simple, make changes that will make the team better with a chance to win a championship!

I don’t blame KOBE for wanting a trade and I am a HUGE,BIG,KOBE/LAL fan and wish this was not happening but…If this is how the LAL Management rolls and operates then KOBE should demand a trade because the current roster SUCK!!! And if the LAL Management will live on excuses for the next 4 seasons to come then KOBE go for it…..DEMAND A TRADE!!!!! I WILL FOLLOW YOU WERE EVER YOU GO (but please do not go to the paper Clips)
