An already thin Lakers frontcourt is now even leaner.
During Monday’s afternoon practice, forward Derrick Caracter, went down with what is being reported as a torn meniscus (MCL). Caracter is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow and will be out for an unspecified amount of time.
Caracter was used sparingly last season, averaging just 2.0 points and 1.0 rebound per game in just over 5.2 minutes.
However after the trade of Lamar Odom and the suspension of Andrew Bynum for the first five games of the regular season, Caracter figured to get an opportunity to play consistent minutes for the Lakers in the frontcourt this season.
