Name: Mark Jackson

Career Coaching Record: Regular Season: 121-109 (.526), Playoffs: 9-10 (.474)

Previous Stints: Golden State Warriors (2011-2014)

Mark Jackson was recently let go by the Golden State Warriors after guiding the team to a 51-31 regular season, its first 50-win season since 1993-94. Jackson turned the struggling franchise from a perennial lottery team to a legitimate playoff contender in his three year stint as head coach, but even that wasn’t enough to save his job. Rumors are swirling that Jackson and the front office did not see eye to eye and that anything short of a Finals appearance would lead to his firing. As his good friend and former broadcast partner Jeff Van Gundy once said, “If they can’t get you on results, they’ll get you on relationships.”

Hit the jump for why Mark Jackson would be a good hire for the Lakers.
