An interesting little story about the Lakers (not yet) NBA championship. Celtics legend Sam Jones was on hand as the Larry O’Brien Trophy arrived via Southwest Airlines at Orlando International Airport yesterday. Following the trophy’s arrival, Jones, a 10-time NBA champion, mingled with fans, media, and Southwest customers. “I never remembered anything like that when I played,” said Jones, a Hall of Famer who will be attending Game 3. “There were a lot of people there.” . . . Neither the Lakers nor Magic practiced during their travel day to Orlando.
