Cavaliers To Show Interest In Trevor?

    Stay in L.A., Trev!

News Herald: Trevor Ariza has said that his first choice would be to remain with the Lakers, but he could be a free agent target of the Cavaliers this summer.

“I would love to be here,” the wing said of Los Angeles.

Ariza will become an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Ariza will definitely stay.. To live and day in LA :)

    • Paul Garnett

Ariza needs to come to Boston if he wants a championship. The Lakers will not get it done. The Celtics own the Lakers.

Too bad Boston won’t get past Cleveland this year and even if they do, the Lakers are going to beat Boston this year (like they have twice already).

    • lainok

If Boston keeps to form, they aren’t going to win another ring for 21 more years. Ariza surely will be retired by then. So why would he want to go to Boston when he can go there every once in a while dressed in Purple and Gold, and win the championship that way. 7 rings is way better than the 0 boston could offer him. besides, Trevor grew up in L.A., went to college in L.A. and is loved in L.A. No way he is leaving that.

      He’s gotta stayyyyyy!!!!! =(

    • fLAV

As much as I like what Ariza brings to the table, it will be difficult for LA to match the offers of these other teams out here. You gotta remember LO has to get paid and with Sasha and Luke’s contracts its gonna be near impossible. Big Drew’s salary skyrockets as well. I would love to seem him stay, but HOW?

      nope.

    • SPANKDATCELTICAZZ

      DEAR PAUL GARNETT:

THE ONLY REASON THE CELTICS HAVE A CHAMPIONSHIP AT ALL IS BECAUSE BYNUM WAS HURT,AS WE’VE SEEN THIS YEAR WITH PAU(NOT KWAME) AND BYNUM IN THE LINEUP! OH AND BY THE WAY YOU HAVE BLACK MEN PLAYING IN “BOSTON” EATING PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY SANDWICHES AND CRYING!!! NICE STREET-CRED YA BEYATCHES!!!!!

    • Matt from Dallas

if LO takes a big enough pay cut we can keep both these guys

    • Mitch4Pres

fuc k no. mitch is too wise to let this man go he will give him the big contract he deserves and he will stay.

    • YellowPurpleFever

I dont think SO. Whats in Cleveland? Thats what I thought…Nothing! Even LeBronze wants to leave for a BIG city.
Trevor is belongs in LA. He will sign a 5yr/35mil this summer. LO gets a pay cut and hope Kobe does the same(recession)
Adam can be off the books if needs to, even Famar an option if Brown can be his replacement.

Guys relax, i’m pretty sure Trevor is going to stay. Why would he want to leave a championship contending team and live in a beautiful city in Los Angeles? Sunny california! haha. Also another key point is that he grew up here. I’m pretty sure lakers dumped vlade to actually have enough money to keep Trevor at least.

    • i hate the color green

if it came down to it i’d rather keep ariza and let go of lamar odumb… hands down he’s our best small forward period

This might sound ridiculous, but Trevor is much more valuable to this team than Odom and we need to let Odom choose to sign for close to minimum and Trevor for sign for a reasonable amount. Trevor, Kobe and Farmar are said to be the closest on the team and Trevor really loves this team and speaks as humble player. If lakers have a 7 game series with Cavs then Trevor will use his dignity and stay with lakers. If they don’t meet up ther is a slight chance that he will go to any team offering him the full MLE. The cavs will sign Monta Ellis or sign/trade for Artest or any vet that can bring them a scorer for when LeHype has a off day. Cavs do have some horrible contacts and I guarantee that Sasha and Luke will be resigned unless they do something REALLY stupid during the playoffs.

The Lakers could offer Ariza the mid-level exception (which I believe they still have – I could be wrong though). If they still have it, the full mid-level is something like $30M over 5 years.

I’m also fairly certain the Lakers have bird rights to LO as he has been with the Lakers now for 5 years, so the Lakers, although over the salary cap, are allowed to resign him. However, the Lakers will most likely offer him a substantial pay decrease (right now he makes $14M, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is making less than $10M next year).

Addition to that, he should actually be making much less than 14 mil. The reason he made 14 mil is b/c he got traded from Miami. His contract had a bonus clause given that he’s traded, he gets an extra 2-3 mil per season.

Lakers will probably offer him 7-8 mil/season.

Stay home Trevor, your childhood, college, and pro days remain in LA.

Well monte ellis just signed a long term conract with the warriors, and sasha and luke are signed to long term deals as well. I feel like odom isnt comin back next year, but i do think ariza will be. The lakers really need to try to pick up a pg, fish is gettin up there and i dont think farmar is a starting pg in this league

No chance Laker managment will let Trevor walk, He’s proven to be a very valuable part of this team-keep this team together Mitch !!!

    • ojt

Hey paul garnett, it’s pretty sad for a a**licking boston fan to go to the laker nation web, boston must not have one since their fans can’t write. You can have luke so his dad can be proud,as it is he works more against the lakers than for them.

    • xtro

trevor will stay as a laker. he a homeboy.

    • kisofdeath

he finally has a starting job here in LA

he is not gonna go to cleveland just so he can sit on the bench watching lebron (both SF) play for 38 mins

    • trademaster 2009

we got rid of Lamar, Ariza, and Radmans contracr, as well as mihms. thats defenitely over 20 million, we can get lebron

    • JB

Nope. Ariza’s taking classes at UCLA now. He won’t go elsewhere.

as the old saying goes. players come and go. its very hard to keep everyone and it is a business. lakers are trying their best to free up some money by trading vlad and mihm, but not sure if it is enough. I think we all know for sure that there will be teams taht will offer a lot to Ariza, just as the hornets did for posey. boston thought they had a good deal for him and the hornets came back witha huge offer that is a bit out of range for a bench role player. i feel the lakers will offer him a nice one but again theres teams out there that are willing to over pay to take players away from competitors and help themselves. ariza is playing well to get his new contract, hope he doesnt slack when he gets it. i just hope the lakers dont over pay too much as they wanna sign lamar as well and still need to sign kobe. with bynums new contract and kobes new contract i find it very hard to see the lakers keep both lamar and ariza. i believe one is gone for sure.
