The Los Angeles Lakers are back at the Staples Center tonight after an unsuccessful road trip. The Phoenix Suns come into tonight's game with some momentum, although that will change by the end of the night.

The Los Angeles Lakers came up short in game three and took a loss. It was their first playoff loss in about month. It doesn't change the fact that the Phoenix Suns have the unenviable task of winning three of the next four games to advance to the NBA Finals; the Lakers won't allow that to happen.

Make no mistake, the playoffs don’t lie; the four best teams in the NBA are battling. The cream does rise to the top. It’s no mystery what two teams are on a collision course to meet in the Finals. A match-up the Lakers Nation has waited two years for...

The Los Angeles Lakers completely dominated the Suns in game one Monday night. The Purple and Gold are rolling sevens right now. They've won seven straight playoffs games; seven is also the magic number for them to reach their season long goal...

The Los Angeles Lakers in their quest to win another championship have reached the NBA's version of the final four. Appropriately, the Lakers coaching staff placed the number eight on the board in the locker room. No other words were necessary. The Phoenix Suns stand between the Lakers and a return to the NBA Finals.

The Lakers beat the Jazz and took a commanding 3-0 lead in the series. The win was way too close for comfort for the Lakers Nation, but a win is a win and we'll all take it. The lead changed only once in the first-half and then 21 times in a ridiculous second half...

The Lakers got off to a good start by winning the first game of the series. It wasn't an easy playoff game, since it appeared that the starters had to win the game twice. The reason for this, you guessed it -- once again, the lack of production from the bench...

The Lakers eliminated the Oklahoma City Thunder in dramatic fashion when Pau Gasol converted the put-back heard around the world with .05 seconds remaining. It was reminiscent of Derek Fisher's game winner in San Antonio in 2004. The Thunder have a bright future, but for the Purple and Gold are on the road to repeat and it's onto the next one...

The Los Angeles Lakers were highly upset about their performance or the lack thereof in both games in Oklahoma City, and in game five, they issued the Thunder a resounding and long overdue beat-down...

The Lakers trip to Oklahoma City didn't go as planned. The Lakers had game three in hand, before letting a great opportunity to go up 3-0 in this series slip away and in game four, they were literally ran out of the gym...

As expected, the Lakers held the home court advantage by taking the first two games of the series. The venue switches from the bright lights of Los Angeles to Oklahoma City, home of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum; a city said to have the best of the historic Old West and the vibrant energy of Bricktown, the city's lively entertainment district.

It wasn't pretty, but most importantly the Lakers won the first game of the series. The best way to look at the first game is 'one down and 15 more to go'...

This is the best time in basketball the playoffs. The Los Angeles Lakers begin the defense of their title at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder; an excellent young athletic 50-win team. The Lakers now have the luxury of focusing on one team.

The (57-24) Lakers face the (28-53) Clippers in their season finale donning their road jerseys. Technically it is a road game for the Lakers, but come on, it's the Staples Center and we all know who owns this house. You can call this the battle of Los Angeles or a game between the owner and their tenant, both apply here.
