With a healthy Kobe, why can’t they. A healthy Kobe is scary to play against.

Bleacher Report: The Cavaliers have lost three straight.  The Lakers had won four straight before losing a one-point decision to the Celtics the other night.

Who can remember when the Cavaliers lost three straight regular season games?  And who can remember when the Lakers won four games in a row without Kobe Bryant?

In fact, who can remember when Kobe Bryant missed four games?  But all that should change this week as Bryant is expected to rejoin his teammates on the hardwood possibly in Memphis on Tuesday.

Will the complexion of the NBA standings change as well?

With a well-rested Kobe Bryant returning to the Lakers lineup for the first time since February 5th and the Cavaliers stumbling, will Bryant and the Lakers finally overtake the Cavaliers and once again hold the best record in the NBA and regain home court advantage throughout the playoffs?

Not only are the Cavaliers stumbling in the East, but the Lakers’ greatest rival in the West, the San Antonio Spurs, are having difficulties of their own.  The Spurs have lost three out of their last five games, and now Tony Parker has been sidelined with an ankle injury.

The stars seem to be aligning for the Lakers. In addition to the Cavs and Spurs declining and Bryant returning, the players around Bryant have never given as good a team performance this season at both ends of the court as they have in the past five games.

If they can keep it up and Bryant can work his magic into the mix, the Lakers should be able to surpass the Cavaliers with the best overall record.

Im tired of everyone comparing us to the Cavs or even mentioning them on the same level as us… they beat us twice in the regular season.. big f’n deal… we are the defending champs, everyone on this site knows the Lakers have not even come close to playing %100 but thats the level the cavs had to play at to beat us in the regular season..lol… The cavs have what….. 1 finals “appearances” and “0” yes……. “0” banners hanging up… once they get to 10… hell… if they can even get 3 or 4 which is the closest anyone but the bulls (6) has came to us or boston they will never be good enough… so why the questions of whether “we” can beat “them” is even is asked is beyond me and is too stupid to even speak on…….

You’re fcukin right dude! The only thing I want to add is…”KOBE FCUKIN BRYANT” PERIOD!

      • Ruin818

And Lebron will NEVER be on Kobe’s level…. so the comparisons shouldnt even come up… he should be compared to Carmelo (at best).. and a news flash to the media.. Melo has a better team, is a better shooter and (my opinion) is a better all around player than lebron.. he just got a bad rap but has better work ethic than Lebron… its just to bad the Nuggets are in the west and have to go against us.. otherwise.. the nuggets could EASILY take the east… and yes.. I know.. Lebron can drop a tripple double on any given night… so f’n what… So can Lamar…

          No he’s not.

BTW, The Magic swept us last year in the regular season. You see how much that worked for them in the post season.

  • Leor_77

Hmmm, maybe. We have a very tough schedule coming up, so we will have to win some very difficult games.

    • TOUCHING_MYSELF

That’ll just get our boys ready for the playoffs! The Cavs may have a softer end schedule and therefore have a better chance of taking the best overall record, but when it comes down to it, the Lakers will be ready for the post season while the Cavs will have to try to kick it up a notch.

Everytime I see you spell Lebronze I laugh. This is because your Queen could not win the gold medal without Kobe! How fitting. You sir, are a tool.

  • keepon_keepinon18

Its going to take the Cavs a couple of games, if not more, to play well with Jamison. With Kobe coming back from his injuries, its going to be crucial that the Lakers finish at least 1 game ahead of the Cavaliers by the end of the season.

I don’t know how tough it will be for Kobe + Andrew plus everyone one else to play at their best team-wise but, when it does happen, the Lakers are poised to make a run. Gentlemen, we are going to have ourselves a winning streak.

A healthy Kobe who is willing to share the ball when he’s tempted to “outduel” LeBron.
