Good news. Hopefully the results are positive.

O.C. Register: Andrew Bynum has a 10 a.m. date with an empty basketball court.

Bynum is scheduled to be at the Lakers’ training facility in El Segundo at 10 a.m. Thursday to do an individual on-court workout for the first time since straining his left Achilles’ tendon on March 19.

The Lakers hope there has been sufficient healing in Bynum’s tendon that he is asymptomatic during his drills and continues to feel no pain or discomfort in team practices Friday and Saturday leading up to the Sunday playoff opener.

“We don’t know if he can play six minutes a half or play 10 minutes a half,” Lakers coach Phil Jackson said of Bynum’s game availability. “We’ll look at his conditioning and measure it from there.”

Ready to practice and ready to play are two different animals. I hope the Lakers don’t turn into the Celtics one and done. My heart says they can but common sense says no repeat. The injuries, lack of defense & effort from the bench etc etc etc. Sometimes you have to read the writing on the wall.
