Bynum fighting through pain on the outside of his knee

Interesting news on Bynum’s knee. I’m sure he’ll be fine but worth reading over.

O.C. Register: Bynum said after the Lakers’ Game 2 victory that he has some pain on the outside of his right knee. He said it was an irritation in his iliotibial band but isn’t a major concern. He said it’s “going to be there for a little while.”

Bynum described his current health as “pretty good” six games into a return from a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee. Assessing both the state of his body and his game, he said he is “feeling overall about 95 percent.”

sit him and let him ice and get to 100%. we can win this series without him and with DJ, we can adjust just fine against Utah. we need Bynum in the Finals at 100% and I don’t want it getting any worse or taking any chances. It’s hurting for a reason.. hopefully it’s just a little rusty, but if it’s because of all this action, then the Lakers need to have him rest and ice so he’s back to 100% for the finals.

Suck it up Bynum and play hard. Take on Kobe’s will to win through injuries.

I’ve irritated this tendon before. It hurts like hell. A real bad burning sensation.

      He’ll be fine.

If you think he’d come back and have 0 pain think again. It’s not too much of a concern to me.

If Okur plays Thursday in Utah, I’d start Odom rather than Bynum, one, because that knee needs some TLC, and, two, I’d make Okur chase Lamar or Pau up and down the court with his pulled hamstring.

If you think ANYONE is 100% at this point of the season… think again.
