Great news. One step closer to his return.

L.A. Times: Bynum, who had surgery to repair a torn cartilage in his knee, will continue to get therapy and see how his progress goes.

He has been cleared to jump and dunk, but now Bynum expects to be able to do some lateral movement drills.

Hello Bynum, it’s me ICE CREAM MAN. Just here giving you heads up about all the haters. These people say you are always hurt and will never live up to your true potential. Well, now that you’ve been cleared to do some jumping exercise, tuffen up and show everyone you are a beast. Make everyone a believer.

He already proved to me that he’s tough. What he did for us last postseason was amazing. He decided to play through a serious injury and had he not played through it we would not be the champs. He earned my respect and he should have earned everyone’s respect. I just hope he comes back healthy, his toughness is not in question.

    • the lakers rock!!!!!!

      what he said,

  • Robert.

Bynum has never had to experience microfracture surgery. Amar’e, Yao, and Oden all had that, and see where they are now. Amar’e is still a great player, but missed a year, and isn’t ‘quite the same’ as the pre-surgery version. Remember when his upside was infinity? Yao and Oden have had nothing but progressive troubles.
Drew has had (comparatively) routine knee surgery. It should just require rehab, and care not to re-injure. I’m sure he will play well – he just needs to be careful, that’s all.
We DO need Drew in the paint, esp. against teams like the Celtics and the heat.

The game last night against Chicago, Drew would have made a difference!

But it’s ok! I’d rather he’s healthy from here on out.

Kevin you are a fat mouth couch potato . Can you play? Stop calling pro ball players lazy can you do what he do? moron.

    • Slick Vic

Seriously, these douche bags don’t appreciate the players that we have. There is no other center out there that we can trade for. The Lakers are doing fine with and without him. I just want to make sure he is healthy enough to play. These soo called Laker fans pisses me off when they want to trade someone that gets injured. I would understand if they want the player traded someone if he was hurting the team stat wise. We need Bynum for his as a offensive and defensive presence.
