Bobcats end preseason 0-7 with loss to Lakers

Another impressive showing by Jordan Farmar, while Sun Yue has to consider himself lucky for having a guaranteed contract. One pre-season game remains!

Yahoo!: Pau Gasol scored 13 points and the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Charlotte Bobcats 88-77 on Thursday night without the ailing Kobe Bryant.

Bryant, the NBA’s reigning MVP, missed the exhibition game because of residual swelling in his hyper-extended right knee following a collision with teammate Josh Powell on Tuesday night against the Bobcats in San Diego.

The crowd of 12,147 at Honda Center let out a collective groan when public address announcer Lawrence Tanter gave them the news following the player introductions.

“I’ve got a little bit of puffiness in the back of the knee. It’s just from the trauma of landing the way I landed,” Bryant said. “So we’ll just knock that out and make sure the swelling’s out of there, which should be soon. Then I’m OK. After seeing the injury on TV, I’m surprised it’s not worse, to be honest.”

    Bobcats actually fell to 0-8.

Andrew’s looking good. I expect more ally hoops once season starts. Once he becomes a constant threat in the middle, teams will double and that’ll free up the perimeter.

I understand the bashing of Sun Yue, but lets at least understand that it takes a while for athletes from overseas to adjust to the NBA game. It happened to Dirk, Parker, Ginoboli, and anyone else. Yi Jianlian hasn’t done crap, but every Bucks writer says he sucks. I guess no one has patience these days.

DJ Augustin is going to be a really good point guard for Larry Brown. The kid can play. I thought he would have trouble because of his size and lack of athletic ability, but he has overcome that.

I only bash that which is bash-worthy. To simply call me a basher — and offer nothing in rebuttal — is an agreement of the statement that, so far, Sun Yue sucks.

Yes, he may magically get better at some future point in time and shock the world. But, so far, my eyeballs and brain are observing some really crappy play. Hence, the large number of suckiness postings. Got it?

Good analogy on Sun Yue. Yao Ming had a conditioning problem when he first came in the league. Could only play a good 20 – 30. Now he can play a lot more.

He’s injury prone tho and always tends to miss a 3rd of the season.

I’d still take Sun over Fluke any day and twice on sundays. Fluke has become our new Kwame brown. If Mitch can dump him he will be Gm of the decade….

Sun Yue is going to surprise alot of us,gotta remember, dude is playing with an illness, plus,he,like E-ROC said,he has to catch up with the speed of the NBA,which won’t take’em too long…be patient with him.

    YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT!

Yao Ming average 13.5 points a game his rookie year and he’s 7’6″ and 300 lbs and Sun Yue’s problem is not conditioning its that he can’t play in the NBA now. Sun Yue has not overcome anything especially his athletic ability and all the other good international players showed signs of good basketball ability their rookie years and so far Sun Yue hasn’t and since he’s on our team he won’t get to this season unless we are up or down big. I don’t understand why people would want a player that lacks basketball ability we don’t need more scrubs on our team, I guess people only want Sun Yue because he is another Coby Karl and when Phil puts him in at the end of a horrible game everyone will cheer when he makes a basket that does not make our team better

-I totally agree. Sun struggles even just make his free-throws. he cant bring the ball up pressure, either. From what i have seen, he cant dribble very well under pressure with his right hand, or at all,let a lone.
