According to NBC Los Angeles, Lakers Center Andrew Bynum parked his black BMW in two parking spots reserved for the handicapped at the Bristol Farms Market in Playa del Rey on Wednesday.

NBC4 questioned Andrew Bynum as he was getting back into his car:

Andrew Bynum, 23, was asked about the alleged incident as he was getting into his car. He slammed his car door and drove off without comment.

Also according to the LA Times, this isn’t the first time Bynum has parked in a handicapped space:

To make matters worse, this isn’t the first time Bynum’s been caught showing disrespect toward the handicapped spaces that help the physically disabled. The Times’ T.J. Simers received an e-mailed photo in May from a reader catching Bynum in the act of parking across a white-and-blue painted handicapped space directly in front of a blue handicapped sign outside a Bank of America in Playa del Rey.

Due to the NBA lockout the Lakers cannot ask Bynum to come out publically and apologize for the incident, or offer explanation.

Bynum’s agent, David Lee, said he would relay an interview request to his client, but no interview has been arranged.

typical idiots always hating on athletes and celebrities using the worst stories. the news is like tmz, like who the fukk cares about where he parked for a minute, the reporter had like a guy waiting and shiit taking pics, wtf.

Force of habit from the past few seasons, it seems

  • KaliKing

Obviously people don’t understand the importance of handicapped parking spots. What a douche for parking in one.

Calling someone a douche shows me you are one classless fellow!  Do you know Andrew?

  • pdave

It’s a story because there are no other stories. We are in a freakin lockout, what other stories do you want? More people in suits walking in and out of hotel rooms? Bynum is getting on my nerves a bit. I gave him benefit of the doubt but now he just seems to be getting in the news for his bad actions (ejection in playoffs now this). Should have traded him for Carmelo.

Passing judgement ! when was the last time you broke a rule or broke the law. Only thing nobody has a camera looking to catch your ass.

  • Eddiefernandez1181

U guys are all ignorant, Andrew obviously needs to grow up and start acting like man who has respect for those who actually use handicapped parking instead of like a child with a sense of entitlement.

So you are a real man, never made any mistakes?  BULL!

  • Cody

Get off his back. I find this quite funny, because he parks in the middle of not one but two handicapped spots. If a person has a nice car like that, then they could park where ever they want. Also you all are being hypocrites, because you all know that when ever you look to park some place and everything is taken up except for the damn handicapped spots, you know that pisses you off. And who gives a shit if he parks in handicapped spots. You act like he drove his car threw the store window.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_T25GSDTFRBNX6WZGKYBNGHDMRQ Margarite

No not the little angel who always passing judgement. They are the same drunk ass guys who break rules get drunk and have made complete asses of themselves.

Bynum’s mentality of “I’m above the law and untouchable” is very disturbing.

Why because you said so? You are not here to judge, MR. CLEAN!

And here I thought he was one of the good guys.  So, dissapointed

    • Guildtank

I don’t think a “parking” incidence make him a “bad guy”. If we are going to microscopically examine every player’s personal life and behaviour, I am sure none of them is a saint. Andrew Bynum is just like you or I or anyone in the society… don’t tell me you never committed a driving offence or having a parking fine in your life?

      • Tobero

You telling everybody is allow to fart in front of any want and that is going to be totally fine?…So lets continue building a society of morons!

        • Guildtank

I don’t think you understand my post. I am saying there is no need to pass on moral judgment on such insignificant event on another person’s personal life. Are you going to cry foul next time a celebrity run a red light or gets drunk at a party?

You don’t have to explain to this jerk! People always act so PERFECT! This is the same jerk who does everything so right he’s such an angel!  Bull!

  • Jonny

    I thought he’s done with his injury…

  • Kmac

This is why he needs to be traded now!  HAHAH

  • NBAmazingKB24

It was very stupid of Drew to do this, but why is this on the News? Fine him a ticket like they do to everyone else. But then again, he is a star in L.A.  Drew needs to act like an adult now… he is not a kid anymore… but media needs to stop making a big deal out of this.  Not a BIG FREAKEN DEAL! Not like he had a DUI!!!

  • Anonymous

Sadly, that’s what is so disappointing about this whole incident. When it comes down to it, this was just another childish act in a series of childish acts by the biggest child in the NBA today. Grow up, man. At least be man enough to say, okay that was just dumb and selfish of me. I don’t think he’s even addressed it. His Twitter has had nothing but “Oh look at me boxing”. The only time it’s come up was when he retweeted some guy calling him out for it, but he didn’t even comment, just RT’d the dude.
    Man the hell up!

  • laffsatu

    i saw kobe s helicopter in a handicap spot….so sad….so disappointing.so funny.

  • Oldmanflow

This lockout is driving people insane. There is nothing newsworthy to report so we get stories like this. I’m not condoning Bynum’s behavior, all I’m saying is, does this really deserve media attention? He wasn’t arrested for DUI, sexual assault or murder. It’s a parking violation. Yes, he should make a public apology, maybe even a donation to help benefit individuals with special needs. But calling him a “douche” and saying “that’s the reason why we should’ve traded him” is ridiculous. If Bynum should be traded because of a parking violation then Lindsay Lohan and Robert Downey Jr. should be executed the next time one of them spits on the sidewalk.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZLDECWC6GTXH7HKR5DY3JKIFEA Socka

this is stupid who give a shit about this

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZLDECWC6GTXH7HKR5DY3JKIFEA Socka

go to any store you hardly see anyone parking in a handicap spot because they are handicap and don’t have the time to come out and buy stuff they rather let someone else do the shopping and grocery for them btw i always see cops park in the handicap spot lol

  • LUCK SUCKS

Athletes and movie stars are very much alike.  They have this sense of entitlement because the law and society allows it.  If you want people to stop abusing handicap parking spots, increase the fine.  For repeat offenders, suspend their license.

There are more important matters that concern the Lakers like getting rid of dead weight like  LUKE!  HE REALLY SUCKS.

  • Robert

Actually, parking in that spot was probably a good thing, if he got fined.  It means revenue for the city, and maybe a portion of that goes to handicap causes.  He’s getting 20M/year; what better way to spend the money.  Chances are, it didn’t even cause 1 second of inconvenience to someone who might have needed to use the spot, so maybe worth the money. (who knows – maybe a chunk of that money went toward the 405 shutdown last week and helped prevent Carmageddon).

    • Mr. Mister

      BOB GO EAT SOME FRIJOLES

    • Robert

Why did you respond under my post?  Don’t see any ‘Bob’ in this thread.

  • Anonymous

Another 3-4 retweets of criticisms on Drew’s Twitter. And still no response. What’s the point young man? Are we expected to feel sorry for you? Is this an attempt to claim victim status? Is it some kind of an apology in itself? Say something. Defend yourself or apologize, but just silently pointing at the critics is as childish as any of your recent behaviour.
    Be a man. Say something!

  • X1313

Bynum is a butthole and needs to be traded.
