According to NBC Los Angeles, Lakers Center Andrew Bynum parked his black BMW in two parking spots reserved for the handicapped at the Bristol Farms Market in Playa del Rey on Wednesday.
NBC4 questioned Andrew Bynum as he was getting back into his car:
Andrew Bynum, 23, was asked about the alleged incident as he was getting into his car. He slammed his car door and drove off without comment.
Also according to the LA Times, this isn’t the first time Bynum has parked in a handicapped space:
To make matters worse, this isn’t the first time Bynum’s been caught showing disrespect toward the handicapped spaces that help the physically disabled. The Times’ T.J. Simers received an e-mailed photo in May from a reader catching Bynum in the act of parking across a white-and-blue painted handicapped space directly in front of a blue handicapped sign outside a Bank of America in Playa del Rey.
Due to the NBA lockout the Lakers cannot ask Bynum to come out publically and apologize for the incident, or offer explanation.
Bynum’s agent, David Lee, said he would relay an interview request to his client, but no interview has been arranged.
